Bed bug callouts have soared by a fifth in London in the past year, with councils spending more than 270,000 to deal with infestations.
Not a single borough in London provides pest removal services free of charge, the FOI found.
Across the UK, the number of callouts increased by 23 per cent compared with the previous year.
Mayor Sadiq Khan said the threat of France's bed bug outbreak spreading to London's public transport network was a real source of concern.
