Motorists have been urged to avoid the area after a serious three-car crash on the M20 in Kent, causing significant traffic disruptions in both directions since around 6am.
National Highways has advised motorists travelling on the M25 to head towards Maidstone to join the A2 coastbound at J2, as the M20 remains closed.
A spokesperson for Kent Police stated that patrols are on the scene of a serious collision involving three cars, with emergency services responding promptly.
Motorists are advised to consider alternative routes while emergency services respond to the incident, and it is unknown when all closures will be lifted.
