Arts centre closes despite fundraising effort

Equity said the charity's closure was a "great loss for both the local and creative community". In a December meeting, it was stated the charity had invested over 70,000 into restoring the Passmore Edwards Library.
A spokesperson for Newham Council said they were "saddened" by the charity's closure announcement and acknowledged the important role that Applecart Arts played.
