Air ambulance called to scene as man dies after falling from height in Woolwich

We were called at 1:11pm today (April 28) to reports of a person fallen from height in Woolwich, SE18. We sent resources to the scene including ambulance crews, an incident response officer and members of our Hazardous Area Response Team. We also dispatched London's Air Ambulance. Sadly, despite the best efforts of the emergency services, a person died at the scene.
Police were called at about 13:14hrs on Sunday, 28 April to reports of a man fallen from height on Calderwood Street, SE18. Officers and London Ambulance Service attended. The man, believed to be in his 50s, was sadly pronounced decease at the scene. Officers are working to notify his next of kin. Police cordons remain in place. At this time, the incident is being treated as unexplained but there is no evidence to suggest suspicious circumstances. Enquiries are ongoing.
