The trials of a new cooling system on the London Underground have shown success, paving the way for potentially deploying it in multiple stations to combat heat.
TfL is considering the deployment of a novel cooling system after successful trials at Holborn, which could ease heat in stations anticipating increased train traffic.
The Mayor stated that if the cooling panel trials perform well in live environments, additional stations could benefit, including Green Park, Holborn, Leicester Square, and Piccadilly Circus.
Subject to funding, TfL may explore this cooling solution for other deep Tube lines in the future, enhancing the comfort of commuters as temperatures rise.
