1,300 people evacuated from workplaces near Fenchurch Street station after gas main ruptures'

A round 1,300 workers in the City were evacuated from their offices and workplaces on Tuesday after a major gas pipe ruptured.Firefighters carried out the evacuations after a 24-inch gas pipe burst in the city's Seething Lane, at the junction with Crutched Friars.Nearby Fenchurch Station was not affected by the leak, said the London Fire Brigade.
