Slot acknowledged this weakness was unsustainable for title contention. Following set-piece coach Aaron Briggs's departure in late December, Liverpool's coaching staff collectively assumed set-piece responsibilities. The transformation became evident in their 5-2 victory over West Ham, where all three first-half goals came from set pieces, extending their streak to seven consecutive league goals from such situations. Since January, Liverpool has scored the most non-penalty set-piece goals in the Premier League with nine, three more than Arsenal, while conceding just two.
