Former President Donald Trump inaccurately asserted that Vice President Kamala Harris met with Vladimir Putin just days before the invasion of Ukraine, claiming her meeting led to the attack.
Speaking at a rally, Trump criticized Harris’s supposed diplomatic efforts, stating, 'Remember when Joe Biden sent Kamala to Europe to stop the war in Ukraine? She met with Putin and then three days later, he attacked.'
Harris did attend the Munich Security Conference shortly before the invasion and warned that Russia would create a false pretext for its aggression, but Putin never attended.
A Kremlin spokesperson confirmed that there is no record of any meeting between Harris and Putin, further debunking Trump’s claims about her role in the diplomatic discussions.
