Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and several dozen Democratic lawmakers are calling for President Joe Biden to halt arm transfers to Israel following the killing of seven aid workers in Gaza.
More than three dozen members of Congress signed a letter demanding Biden and Secretary of State Antony Blinken reevaluate their decision to provide Israel with U.S. weapons amid their current conflict with Hamas.
The lawmakers urged Biden to reconsider the recent authorization of the transfer of new arms package to Israel until a full investigation into the airstrike that killed the aid workers is completed.
Biden demanded that Israel do more to mitigate civilian deaths and attacks on humanitarian workers in Gaza during a phone call with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
