Ashley Warren, 40, denied charges of owning two XL bully dogs that allegedly mauled pensioner Esther Martin to death, as well as a knife possession charge.
The two XL bullies involved in the attack were subsequently destroyed by the police. Warren became the first defendant to face the dangerous dog charges after the breed's recent ban.
