The WHO has warned that there was a "critical shortage of medical supplies" in north Gaza following a recent Israeli airstrike destroying crucial UN-delivered medical supplies.
Hospital director Hossam Abu Safiyeh in a plea stated, "We currently have no surgeons on site. There are children with abdominal shrapnel injuries who need exploratory surgery before it is too late."
WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus emphasized, "The latest attack is putting patients' lives at grave risk," referring to the impact of the airstrike on hospital functionality.
An official lamented, "The smell of death has spread around the hospital," illustrating the dire conditions and life-threatening situation for the remaining patients.
