I see the apathy': Saginaw city's Black voters could be vital if they vote
Briefly

Terry Pruitt, president of the local NAACP, notes the challenge of engaging Saginaw's Black residents, many of whom feel elections lack relevance to their lives, stating, "I've been here all my life... and I see the apathy. This is not something that they put at the top of the priority list when they've got to figure out, can I get to work today?"
Pruitt elaborates on the disenchantment with voting in low socioeconomic neighborhoods, observing, "When I walk through the neighborhood and talk to people about why they don't vote, you'd be surprised how many of them say, that's not important to me.' These folks are going to go ahead and do what they want to do. They don't listen to me."
