Dem rep predicts party would've lost '30 to 40 House seats' if Biden was on the top of the ticket

Rep. Angie Craig expressed concerns that if President Biden had remained the frontrunner, the Democrats would have lost significant ground in Congress, fearing a potential loss of 30 to 40 House seats to Republicans.

Reflecting on Biden's performance, Craig stated, "I couldn't sleep after Biden's awful, terrible debate against Trump. I concluded that Joe Biden could not campaign and win, warning the country about a potential Trump presidency."

Craig's urgency to address Biden's candidacy stemmed from her belief that the party was at risk of repeating past mistakes, emphasizing the importance of confronting the prospect of losing even more Democratic seats.

Despite the change at the top, Craig noted that the Democrats fell short, losing their status across the board but managing to net only one seat, marking one of the smallest changes in House history.
