Judges usually do not act mean toward lawyers or litigants who are prepared and reserve their ire for those who are not prepared when they come to court.
However, judges often do not seem to empathize with the plight of legal practitioners, possibly because jurists are confronted with the expectations of clearing their dockets and ensuring that cases are being timely disposed.
