Steve Bannon loses his appeal of his contempt of Congress conviction

A three-judge panel of the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals upheld former White House adviser Steve Bannon's conviction for criminal contempt of Congress, in relation to his refusal to cooperate with the Jan. 6 committee probing the Capitol attack.
The panel rejected Bannon's argument that he was not guilty because his 'lawyer advised him not to respond to the subpoena' from Congress, potentially setting the stage for him to seek relief from the U.S. Supreme Court.
