Elite Biglaw Firm Increases Office Attendance Mandate For Attorneys Around The Globe - Above the Law
"We are updating our international approach to hybrid working as of November 2025 to ask our people to attend the office at least three days a week, moving from our previous requirement of at least 50%. This update reflects the value we see in face-to-face collaboration and the benefits of an engaged office culture, while still maintaining flexibility for our people. We remain committed to supporting our people with the tools and working arrangements they need to balance productivity and wellbeing."
"Starting in November, DLA Piper - a firm that brought in $4,239,832,000 gross revenue in 2024, putting it at No. 3 on the Global 200 - will increase its in-person attendance policy to three days for all personnel in its offices outside of America. The firm is one of the last of the global elites to resist a four-day work week for non-U.S. attorneys and staff."
DLA Piper will increase in-person attendance to at least three days per week for all personnel in offices outside America, effective November 2025, up from a prior 50% requirement. The firm reported $4,239,832,000 gross revenue in 2024, ranking No. 3 on the Global 200. DLA Piper already requires U.S. corporate attorneys to be in-office four days weekly and cited face-to-face collaboration, engaged office culture, flexibility, productivity, and wellbeing as reasons for the update. Several major U.S.-based firms have implemented four-day in-office requirements in London. Staff are invited to submit anonymous tips about firm attendance plans by email or text.
