On February 5, 2025, Donald Trump signed an executive order prohibiting transgender athletes from participating in women's sports, coinciding with Women and Girls in Sports Day. This decision aligns with his broader anti-trans agenda and was immediately followed by the NCAA's announcement that only women assigned female at birth would be eligible to compete. This order and subsequent NCAA ruling present obstacles for transgender athletes striving for professional sports or Olympic qualifications. Athletes like Taylor Rey Narvasa express deep sadness and frustration, as such policies challenge their identities and silence their voices in the sports community.

The goal of these attacks is to make trans people shrink themselves. That's why I believe in taking up more space when I have the capacity.
