The survey revealed that while Swedes are generally satisfied with their sex lives, sexual activity with partners has decreased, reflecting changing priorities and lifestyles.
RFSU expert Pelle Ullholm noted that the decrease in sexual activity could indicate a healthier acceptance of each other's needs, including saying no to sex.
Despite fewer sexual encounters, the motivations behind having sex include a desire for intimacy (58%), fun (45%), and relationship strengthening (43%), according to survey responses.
Interestingly, while women tend to have sex more frequently than men, the data indicated that men report higher rates of masturbation, with varying frequencies reported.
