Devulapalli remarked, 'There is no trans-hate in society in general,' in reference to the government's report highlighting an 11% increase in hate crimes against trans individuals. This statement raised concerns within her party, as well as outside of it, about her stance on a very real issue that many activists and organizations are striving to address.
