After a distinguished 33-year career at Ralph Lauren, where he served as chief creative officer, Alfredo Paredes founded his own design firm and published a book detailing his approach to home design. Relocating to Locust Valley during the pandemic, Paredes renovated a historic house and designed a unique studio for his personal belongings. His work reflects a perfect blend of luxury and comfort, continuing to draw inspiration from his experiences and background as the son of Cuban immigrants.
Every time I came across one of his houses, I fell in love with it, said Mr. Paredes, the son of Cuban immigrants who was born and raised in Miami. And it turns out that he built a lot of houses out here on the North Shore of Long Island.
Mr. Paredes renovated the expansive house as a family home but built himself a studio on the lower level. It's a combination man cave, studio and office, Mr. Paredes said.
