Los Angeles County Department of Public Health is investigating a norovirus outbreak linked to raw oysters from the Times' 101 Best Restaurants event, with over 80 reported illnesses.
Attendees at the event suffered severe gastrointestinal symptoms after consuming raw oysters, leading to intense discomfort and prompting an ongoing investigation by health officials.
The recalled oysters associated with the outbreak came from Pacific Northwest Shellfish Co and were sealed with a pack date from November 25, 2024, or later.
Many attendees described their experiences as extremely painful, with one victim, Javier Cabral, reporting having vomited more than two dozen times, calling it 'the most horrible food poisoning'.
