Ian McKellen revealed that his fat suit saved him from more severe injuries when he fell off stage during a performance. Despite his recovery being slow and painful, he feels lucky for the protection it provided his ribs and joints.
After the fall, McKellen recounted how his foot got caught in a chair during a fight scene, leading to an uncontrollable slide across the stage. He vividly remembered tumbling into the audience, screaming and feeling upset about the whole incident.
