Dodgers manager Dave Roberts voiced concern after the loss despite an X-ray coming back negative. "Not great," answered Roberts when asked for an update on Hernández following the Dodgers' loss to the Cleveland Guardians. "He's as tough as they come, and he could barely move his foot. So I don't see how it's not going to be an IL, but I'm sure we're going to give it a couple days to kind of see how he comes out. ... He doesn't come out of games, and just afterward, typically it subsides with the pain. But it didn't, so it's concerning."
Hernández himself feared news that would come from undergoing a CT scan and MRI, but both scans came back negative. "I thought it was worse, honestly. When I got hit and after a couple hours, I felt like the pain wasn't going away, so today I was expecting really bad news but thank God it was nothing to worry about and I'm going to be ready in a couple days."
"Just take the day (off) today, do some activities tomorrow to see how it's going, and maybe Monday or Tuesday be back on the field," Hernández said, planning to test his foot with running and more drills to determine his return to the lineup.
