Rangers' Eovaldi seals season's 1st complete game
Briefly

In a standout performance, Nathan Eovaldi delivered the MLB's first complete game of the season, leading the Texas Rangers to a 1-0 victory over the Cincinnati Reds. Eovaldi showcased remarkable control, striking out eight and not allowing a single walk in his 99-pitch outing. The only run of the game came from a first-inning home run by Wyatt Langford. Eovaldi's efficient pitching and the strong game plan contributed to his success, marking his first shutout since April 2023 and placing him in a unique position as a Ranger with multiple shutouts and no walks in three decades.

I think it was the first-pitch strikes, but also, the offspeed pitches. I was able to get some quick outs, and I didn't really have many deep counts.
