Patrick Corbin earns career win No. 100 as the Nats top the Rockies
Briefly

"I wish it happened a while ago," Corbin, 35, said. "I've been around for a little bit to be able to do something like that, so it's pretty cool. You try to keep going and try to get as many wins as you can. But yeah, it was neat."
As Corbin stood at his locker - which held the game ball, now protected by plastic casing - he reminisced. He thought about his first win, when Henry Blanco, now Washington's catching and strategy coach, was his battery mate for the game.
When the Nationals signed him in December 2018, both parties probably imagined this milestone would come sooner. He has proved to be durable in Washington, but his production has fallen off significantly since he pitched to a 3.25 ERA in 2019.
Despite his struggles, it seemed all but a formality that Corbin would reach 100 career wins this year. He got to 98 in May but didn't earn No. 99 until July 19 against the Cincinnati Reds.
