The Los Angeles Dodgers plan to visit The White House on April 7 to celebrate their World Series victory, meeting President Donald Trump. While Dodgers manager Dave Roberts confirmed his attendance for the celebration, standout player Mookie Betts remains undecided. Betts had previously declined the invitation to a White House visit after the Red Sox's victory in 2019. Citing the significance of the event, Roberts expressed pride in attending, while Betts indicated he would discuss his choice with his family before making a final decision.
I won't be going there," Betts told the Boston Globe at the time. "I decided not to."
It's certainly a huge honor to get the invitation to the White House. It allows us to celebrate our 2024 championship. To my understanding, every World Series champion gets that honor," Roberts said Tuesday.
