"You're cutting ties with a really good ballplayer that's versatile. But just the guys we have coming back, it shows the talent in the room now and coming. I really like Amed a lot. It's a tough decision, it really is," Dodgers manager Dave Roberts told reporters at the time. Both infielders, currently on rehab assignments in the Arizona Fall League, required roster spots as their maximum rehab period concluded.
He originally signed a one-year contract with the Tampa Bay Rays for 2024, later moved to the Dodgers, and then was picked up by the Reds via waivers.
