Former Dodgers top prospect Grant Holmes makes MLB debut at 28 years old after a long journey through multiple teams and minor league contracts, showcasing perseverance and hard work.
Holmes, once a highly-ranked prospect in the Dodgers system, went through several challenges including a trade to the Oakland Athletics, missing time due to the 2020 season cancellation and shoulder soreness, and being released by the Athletics in 2022.
Despite setbacks, Holmes signed with the Atlanta Braves, excelled in their Triple-A affiliate with impressive stats, and finally received his call-up in 2024, making his debut with a solid performance pitching three relief innings with zero earned runs.
