Former Dodgers Outfielder Retires, Joins LA Coaching Staff

Zach Reks, a former outfielder for the Los Angeles Dodgers, has officially retired from Major League Baseball. At 31 years old, he is transitioning into a coaching role with the Dodgers as a hitting coach in the Arizona Complex League. Reks made his MLB debut in June 2021 and had a brief stint in the league, trading teams and experiencing minor league game time before retiring. Reks aims to leverage his playing experience to develop upcoming hitters within the Dodgers organization, contributing in a new capacity after being drafted by them in 2017.
Reks, 31, made his Major League debut with the Dodgers on June 21, 2021, playing six games and finishing with an 0-for-10 record.
After being designated for assignment and released, Reks signed with the Lotte Giants of the Korean Baseball Organization, playing one-and-a-half seasons.
Reks has now retired from his playing career and has returned to the Dodgers organization as a hitting coach in the Arizona Complex League.
Having been drafted in the 10th round of the 2017 MLB Draft, Reks aims to contribute to the Dodgers in a new capacity.
