After bringing in former Minnesota Twins and Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Jake Cave, the Rockies chose to move on from Zimmer.
Prior to joining the Dodgers, Zimmer played for four MLB teams. His longest stint came with Cleveland, who selected him in the first round of the 2014 MLB Draft out of the University of San Francisco.
