Blake Snell has signed a five-year, $182 million contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers, including a $52 million signing bonus and deferred payments.
The contract aims to minimize the Dodgers' competitive balance tax hit, lowering their average annual value to about $32 to $33 million despite the $36.4 million average.
While there are no opt-outs in the deal, a limited no-trade clause is included, along with a $5 million additional payment if traded.
With Snell's arrival, the Dodgers' anticipated 2025 rotation is shaping up to potentially include standout pitchers like Shohei Ohtani and Yoshinobu Yamamoto.
