Dodgers News: Mookie Betts Enjoyed Offseason Trip To Japan
Briefly

Mookie Betts' upcoming trip with the Dodgers to Japan includes his return since their 2024 World Series win. Betts previously hosted a baseball clinic at Matsusen Elementary School in Tokyo, part of MLB's "Play Ball" initiative. He shared insights with 60 students, emphasizing the experience of baseball and enjoying Japanese culture. While he appreciates his popularity, he acknowledges that he isn't at the same level as figures like Shohei Ohtani. The Dodgers have also created a fan club in Japan, offering various perks to local members.
"It was awesome. It was really neat to see the culture, taste all the food and really experience what it's like," Betts said of his time in Japan.
"I wasn't Shohei (Ohtani) by any means, but to experience kind of what it's like to walk around the streets and everyone knows you. I can only imagine being those guys. It was just an amazing experience."
Betts encouraged the students to ask any questions they had and he was more than happy to share his insights about the game.
The Dodgers launched a fan club that is only available to residents of Japan, which comes with special perks such as limited edition merchandise and a chance to win tickets to the Tokyo Series.
