Plex has announced a price hike for its premium subscription service, Plex Pass, for the first time in a decade. Starting April 29, the monthly rate will increase from $5 to $7, while the annual subscription will rise to $70 from $40, and the lifetime pass will go from $120 to $250. The company cites rising industry costs as the reason for the increase. Alongside this, Plex plans to introduce new features and eliminate the mobile unlock fee, aiming to enhance user experience.
These changes weren't made lightly, and we've spent a lot of time weighing the best path forward to ensure we can continue to balance value with a best-in-class personal media experience for years to come.
Streaming service Plex is raising its prices for the first time in ten years... Plex Pass will soon cost $7 per month, which is an increase of $2 per month.
