Called Hidden Words, you can add words, phrases, or even emojis to be hidden from your view within the Instagram app across various sections such as timeline, search, profiles, and replies under posts.
Users can manage a custom list of words or phrases to be muted, and the app also automatically filters out posts containing certain words; this automated filter option can be toggled on or off in the settings.
Adam Mosseri announced that Instagram is developing new moderation tools, including the ability for users to control who can quote their posts; it's a move towards reducing unwanted attention and harassment on the platform.
Users will soon have the option to mute notifications on specific posts, allowing them to silence notifications from particular posts while still receiving other notifications.
