The updated timeline suggests that Breath of the Wild does not unify the story branches but instead adds complexity, leaving fans further puzzled.
Zelda fans have long been more invested in the franchise's timeline than Nintendo itself, with the first official timeline published only in 2011.
Upcoming Zelda title, Echoes of Wisdom, is also unaccounted for in the revised timeline. It’s set to launch on September 26, still raising questions about the series chronology.
