Disney sent a cease and desist accusing ByteDance of reproducing, distributing, and creating derivative works featuring protected characters. Paramount Skydance issued a similar demand to remove infringing instances and block future generation. The Motion Picture Association called the tool a massive-scale copyright infringement that undermines jobs. SAG-AFTRA said members' voices and likenesses were used without authorization and condemned the practice. ByteDance pledged to prevent unauthorized use of intellectual property and likeness.
