We have implemented manual processes and procedures to remain operational. Manual processes take significantly longer to perform and impact inventory availability. In an effort to further manage the blood supply, we have asked the more than 250 hospitals we serve to activate their critical blood shortage protocols and to remain in that status for the time being.
An attacker will make use of known or unknown - zero-day - vulnerabilities once they have a foothold, so regardless of the way in, software security, or lack of it, is implicit. Understanding the software firms develop, maintain, or simply operate in order to have the best defense against this kind of attack.
