Dmitry Khoroshev, aka LockBitSupp, was revealed as the mastermind behind the LockBit ransomware group, involved in cyberattacks like the one on the Royal Mail, facing consequences such as asset freezes and travel bans.
The National Crime Agency collaborated with international partners to expose Khoroshev, seize control of LockBit's website, and trace over 7,000 attacks conducted between 2022 and 2024 affecting countries like the US, UK, France, Germany, and China, targeting hospitals with over 2,110 victims forced into negotiations by cybercriminals.
