Salesforce says some of its customers' data was accessed after Gainsight breach | TechCrunch
"Gainsight-published applications connected to Salesforce, which are installed and managed directly by customers."
"no indication that this issue resulted from any vulnerability in the Salesforce platform,"
"Our internal investigation is ongoing,"
"security team is investigating and we'll get back to you when we have more to share."
Salesforce is investigating a breach in which certain customers' Salesforce data was compromised through apps published by Gainsight. Salesforce reports no indication the issue resulted from a vulnerability in the Salesforce platform and says activity appears related to Gainsight's external connection to Salesforce. Gainsight's status page notes a "Salesforce connection issue" and states, "Our internal investigation is ongoing." Gainsight did not immediately respond to requests for comment. Several corporate customers use Gainsight; GitLab's security team is investigating. The hacking group ShinyHunters claimed responsibility and threatened to publicize stolen data if no negotiation occurs.
