Researchers claim most Google Pixel phones shipped with exploitable bloatware since 2017
Briefly

iVerify has uncovered a serious vulnerability in Google Pixel smartphones, tied to a piece of third-party software known as Showcase.apk, which has deep system access.
The issue arises from Showcase.apk, created for Verizon, that utilizes an unencrypted connection to download a configuration file, allowing potential remote code execution.
While Showcase is not enabled by default, its inability to be uninstalled poses risks, as there are various means to activate it on devices.
Following the report, Google acknowledged the risks and promised a forthcoming update to remove Showcase from Pixel devices, emphasizing its absence in the latest Pixel 9 models.
