Equinox, a New York human services organization, suffered a data security incident tied to LockBit3.0, leaking sensitive information of individuals it serves.
LockBit3.0 added Equinox to its leak site on May 18, threatening to expose 31.8 GB of files unless the organization responded by August 25.
Equinox's breach notification letter reveals the types of information that may have been accessed, including Social Security numbers, financial information, and health-related data.
Despite the breach notification, Equinox did not mention any actual data leaks, even as LockBit confirmed the successful exfiltration of sensitive files from their network.
