Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) has informed at least 16 employees that their personal data, including driver's licenses and credit card numbers, may have been compromised in a cyberattack by Russian state-sponsored hackers in May 2023. Following the breach, HPE conducted a forensic investigation, reinforced its network security protocols, and expanded its internal monitoring measures. Additionally, HPE is offering affected individuals free credit monitoring services through Equifax and encouraging them to monitor their financial activities for suspicious transactions.
HPE's forensic investigation determined that certain individuals' personal information may have been subject to unauthorized access.
HPE has taken a series of remediation actions, such as strengthening network security and expanding its monitoring and logging measures.
The firm is offering affected staff free memberships for Equifax Complete Premier, which provides information on changes to victims' credit reports.
In addition to enrolling in credit monitoring, we recommend that you remain vigilant against incidents of identity theft and fraud.
