Google Chrome may soon use "AI" to replace compromised passwords
Briefly

Google's Chrome browser is set to implement a security enhancement involving the detection of passwords compromised in data breaches. This upgrade will feature an 'Automated password Change' option, allowing Chrome to offer password changes automatically when a user signs in, as opposed to the previous method of mere prompting. This feature, discovered in an early build by software researcher Leopeva64, aims to make secure password management simpler for users by directly integrating the change process into Chrome. Passwords modified will be stored securely in Google's Password Manager, which ensures privacy through encryption.
This new option, 'Automated password Change,' indicates Chrome’s upcoming capability to change compromised passwords automatically after identifying breaches, streamlining user security.
Currently, when Chrome detects a password belonging to a user that has been compromised, it alerts users to change it. The new feature automates this process.
