Totaling 126,276 files and over 5.3 terabytes of data, the unprotected database included personal identifiable information, health assessments, and even audio and video files.
The lack of password protection on the database allowed easy access to sensitive patient information, posing significant risks of data breaches by malicious actors.
Patients are urged to promptly change their online account passwords and notify insurance providers for new account numbers to mitigate potential security threats.
