Casio confirmed on Friday that a ransomware attack resulted in the theft of customer data, alongside personal and sensitive company information from employees and partners.
The company initially reported a cyberattack on October 7 but did not disclose the nature of the breach until later, confirming the access to sensitive data.
Underground, the ransomware group claiming responsibility, indicated it stole over 200 gigabytes of data from Casio, which included payroll and legal documents.
Despite the breach, Casio stated that customer credit card information remains secure, as services like Casio ID and ClassPad were not compromised.
