Amazon confirmed a data breach involving employee contact information due to a vulnerability in the MOVEit file transfer system, impacting 26 organizations including MetLife and HP.
Hudson Rock indicated that the leaked data from the hacking forum contains over 2.8 million lines pertaining to Amazon and other affected organizations, highlighting the system's security vulnerability.
Despite the breach revealing work email addresses, phone numbers, and building locations, Amazon stated that no sensitive information like social security numbers or financial data was compromised.
"The only Amazon information involved was employee work contact information...We have not experienced a security event," said spokesperson Adam Montgomery, emphasizing the security of AWS systems.
