A 'very large percentage' of Pixel phones have a hidden security vulnerability
Briefly

Security firm iVerify reported that many Pixel phones from 2017 onward contain a vulnerability in showcase.apk, making them susceptible to man-in-the-middle attacks.
The showcase.apk app can receive configurations from an unsecured Amazon Web Services domain, theoretically allowing for malicious code to be injected into Pixel phones.
Although the app isn't enabled by default and can't be removed through standard processes, Google's representatives stated they are eliminating it from all Pixel devices.
Despite Google stating there's no evidence of exploitation, they are proactively removing the showcase.apk app through an upcoming software update for safety.
