Jeremy Renner says he turned down 'Hawkeye' season 2 because he was offered 'half the money'
Briefly

Jeremy Renner, known for his role as Hawkeye, declined to return for a second season of the Disney+ series due to a salary offer that was half of what he earned in the first season. He expressed frustration with Disney's budget management and linked the low offer to his recent recovery from a severe snowplow accident. The situation highlights ongoing tensions between talent and production companies regarding fair compensation, particularly within high-grossing franchises like the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
They asked me to do season two, and they offered me half the money. I'm like, 'Well, it's going to take me twice the amount of work for half the amount of money'.
I'm like, 'I'm sorry, why? Did you think I'm only half the Jeremy because I got ran over?' Maybe that's why you want to pay me half of what I made on the first season?
This is not Marvel mind you. This is not even really Disney, it's just the penny pinchers who work there.
Hawkeye is one of the few original Avengers who did not get a standalone movie.
