Bay Area-born Marvel director returns to the theater where he saw his first film

“This is the place I saw my first film,” he told SFGATE, going on to note that his first theatrical experience was “Masters of the Universe,” the 1987 He-Man movie.

The film follows a dysfunctional group of almost-Avengers, leaning more heavily on practical effects than the typical CGI fare the studio is famous for.
