The Novium Museum in Chichester has acquired a rare 1st-century Roman gold armilla bracelet, discovered by 11-year-old Rowan Brannan during a walk.
It is only the fourth gold armilla bracelet recorded, and was confirmed as an authentic Roman artifact by archaeologists after Rowan reported it.
Chichester District Council leader Adrian Moss stated that the bracelet will illuminate military attitudes and the rewards Roman soldiers received for bravery.
The bracelet's collection at The Novium Museum will enhance their understanding of local Roman life and provide a distinct narrative from that era.
